PATALAISKA – A STORY ABOUT NATURE’S ENCHANTMENT

In the beginning, there was only the Eastern Finnish forest, a lake and an outcrop. Natalia saw that there could be more – high-quality cottages, smoke coming out from the lakeside sauna’s chimney, a sun setting behind the horizon. That vision spurred us, Natalia and Veli-Matti, to build in 2007 four charming cottages – Nordic, Polar, Lapponia and Kantri – to the site within a year.

That is how the Patalaiska family business began. The vision of having a holiday in a cosy environment in the peaceful wilderness has held up to this day and shines through in the values of Patalaiska: loyalty, natural harmony, and customer enjoyment. We want to create unforgettable experiences, the kind we would love to have ourselves.

From summer 2021 only Polar and Kantri are still available for our guests and Nordic and Lapponia are in a finish private ownership now.

In our well-equipped cottages you can spend a holiday at any time of the year, with a large variety of seasonal activities and ever-changing vistas. Natalia has also put together a holiday guide listing local attractions and restaurants. You can learn more about them in our attraction map.

We welcome you to our favourite place here among the lakes of South Karelia. The local nature has charmed us, and we want to offer a piece of that magic to our guests, too.
